Installation Guide

Welcome to your upgraded privacy experience.

Follow the steps below for a smooth, bubble-free, professional installation.

Measure and Cut

Start by measuring your window’s height and width. Cut the Privavue film slightly larger than the window, about 1 inch extra on each side, so you can trim it perfectly later. Lay the cut film on a clean, flat surface with the protective backing facing up.

Clean and Wet the Window

Remove any blinds, curtains, or objects in the way. Clean the glass thoroughly with a lint-free cloth and a good glass cleaner to remove dust, dirt, and grease. Once clean, generously spray the window with a soapy water mixture (1 drop of dish soap per 500ml of water). The wet surface allows the film to slide into place and makes it easier to remove air bubbles.

Peel and Wet the Film

Carefully peel the protective backing from the adhesive side of the film. Keep the adhesive side facing the wet window. Lightly spray the adhesive side with soapy water to prevent it from sticking too quickly.

Apply the Film on the Window

Position the film at the top of your window and slowly press it against the glass, letting excess water escape naturally. Take your time, small adjustments now will prevent wrinkles later.

Squeegee the Film

Using a squeegee or flat edge tool, gently push out air bubbles and water from the center toward the edges. Make sure the film lies flat and smooth across the window.

Trim the Excess Film

Use a sharp utility knife to carefully trim the extra film along the edges, making sure all edges are flush and neat. Wipe the edges with a lint-free cloth. Let the film dry completely for 24–48 hours. Avoid touching or cleaning it during this period, tiny bubbles may appear initially but will disappear.

Enjoy Your Privacy

Congratulations! Your windows are now private, glare-free, and protected from UV rays. If any large bubbles remain, lift and reapply gently with the squeegee. If edges peel, press them firmly down. And if the film doesn’t stick well, double-check that your window was clean and wet during application.
